Jaren Guetter is the creator and owner of charActors, LLC. Wife to Luke, and mom to Leighton (10), Nolan (7), Kinnley (3), and Piper (baby!), Jaren understands what children like (and don't like!), as well as what parents want. She is thrilled to bring magical memories to children and their family and friends, as well as entertainment to corporate and public events.

 

A native of Sioux Falls, Jaren earned her B.A. in English and Secondary Education from the University of Sioux Falls and her M.Ed. from the University of Missouri, Columbia, MO. For several years, she taught English, Speech and Theater at Washington High School in Sioux Falls, as well as Brandon Valley High School, in Brandon, SD, and later became the Theater Manager for the Harrisburg School District, Harrisburg, SD, where she also formed the community theatre, Harrisburg Area Theatre (HAT). She was honored to be the guest director for the University of Sioux Falls '14-'15 Theatre Season, and she has enjoyed directing two main stage shows for the Sioux Empire Community Theatre's 13th and 14th seasons. She is also the executive director for the Singing Boys of Sioux Falls.

 

With a successful career in the theatre arts, Jaren's directing and choreography credits include Steel Magnolias, The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940, Almost, Maine, Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, 42nd Street, Seussical the Musical, Oliver!, Agatha Christie's The Mousetrap, The Great Gatsby, Damn Yankees, The Little Mermaid, and many more!

 

As an actor, most people recognize her as a cast member of McKennan Park's Storyland Children's Theatre. What began as a fun summer job after college soon became Jaren's summer family, and her love for performing for the thousands of children, parents, grandparents, and daycare providers that attend the shows each week, gave her the idea of bringing the same fun and joy to events of all kinds.  

 

Currently, charActors has over 30 characters being portrayed by several different performers. They all have training in theatre and experience on stage, many work in the theatre arts, and each of them love working with children of all ages.

 

As an experienced director, Jaren works with the performers to ensure that each character will not only look the part, but act the part, too. charActors prides itself in the quality of our performances, extraordinary costumes and wigs, and fabulous customer service.
